Dying To Live grew from a collaboration between Canadian filmmaker Chris Atkins and Egyptian-born Canadian human-rights advocate Majed El Shafie following the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel.

The film brings together survivor testimony, interviews, field footage and archival material to examine the attacks, their human impact and the struggle over truth and misinformation that followed.
